Cindy Crawford
Cindy Crawford
Cindy Crawford is one of the most recognizable faces in the world, having appeared on over 600 magazine covers worldwide. Born and raised in DeKalb, Ill., Crawford competed in Elite Model Management’s Look of the Year competition in 1983 and placed among the top 15 finalists. She went on to become one of the most successful models of all time.
In the U.S., Crawford has worked with such reputable companies as Revlon, Visa and Pepsi. She’s been a spokesperson for Omega watches, Ellen Tracy, Foster Grant, 24 Hour Fitness and Remington Hair products.
Crawford gained notoriety as the host of MTV’s “House of Style” from 1989-1995 and as a guest host of talks shows such as “Good Morning America” and “Regis and Kathie Lee.” Her 1993 Pepsi commercial is still one of the most notable and award-winning commercials ever.
Crawford is a longtime supporter of the Leukemia Society and joined forces with the pharmaceutical company, Ortho-Biotec, to publicize the “Strength for Caring Program,” which offers assistance to caregivers and families of cancer patients.
Why do I support Ronald McDonald House Charities?
“I lost a brother to leukemia over 30 years ago. This loss has inspired me to work with children’s hospitals and support systems for families with sick children. Ronald McDonald House is one of the best examples of how we can all help.” — Cindy Crawford
