Paris Bennett

In 2006, Paris Bennett became one of the 24 contestants on “American Idol,” and recently released her first solo album, “Princess P.”

Bennett began her singing career at her great grandfather’s church in Rockford, Ill., at the age of four. She later performed in local talent shows before securing her first big performance: singing a Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis song called “Welcome” during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Paris’s other recent projects include her work on the “Forever Cool” album, for which she recorded a version of Dean Martin’s “Baby O,” and she just completed filming her role in the upcoming Fox film “Mama I Want To Sing.”

Bennett comes from a musical family that includes her voice-training mother Jamecia Bennett and grandmother Ann Nesby. Devoted music fans will recall that Nesby fronted the ‘90s R&B/gospel group Sounds of Blackness.

Why do I support Ronald McDonald House Charities?

“I became involved with RMHC after participating in ‘American Idol,’ and since I have two baby brothers, being a shining star for children is very important to me. RMHC helps so many children all over the world, I’m just proud to be able to share my gifts and talents with them!” — Paris Bennett
