Trey Wingo
Trey Wingo
Trey Wingo is one of the key figures behind ESPN’s year-round coverage of the National Football League, most notably as host of “NFL Live,” the weekday pro football news and information show. He recently added “NFL PrimeTime” to his on-air responsibilities, which include hosting ESPN’s NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament studio coverage, anchoring “SportsCenter,” play-by-play for Arena Football games and regular contributions to ESPN Radio programs.
With ESPN’s year-round football focus, Wingo expanded his role in 2007 to include play-by-play duties for Arena Football games alongside analyst Mark Schlereth and hosting the “NFL Quarterback Challenge” special that aired in August.
Wingo joined ESPN from KSDK-TV in St. Louis, Mo., where he was a sports anchor/reporter for six years (1991-97). He began his career in 1987 as a sports producer for NBC’s “News at Sunrise in New York.”
Why do I support Ronald McDonald House Charities?
“My involvement with RMHC is simple: I’ve seen too many lives affected by cancer. Anything I can do to help I will. When I lived in St. Louis in the early 90’s, some friends of ours had a son battling cancer. When he was first diagnosed, they did stay in a Ronald McDonald House, and the stability the House provided them was immeasurable.” — Trey Wingo
