Monetary donations, as well as gifts of goods and services, help the Ronald McDonald House in Seattle run smoothly.
Driven by a passion to reach out to children in need, RMHC has built a network of care and concern around the world, with local RMHC Chapters operating in 51 countries and regions. Although the Charity’s breadth and impact are global, individuals acting at a community level allow RMHC to help children. With the support of the RMHC global office and contributions from individual donors, local RMHC Chapters identify and address needs in their communities.
Support Core Programming
Donations for RMHC help local Chapters in a number of ways. RMHC core programs, Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, rely heavily on monetary contributions from the community.
The cornerstone of RMHC, the Ronald McDonald House program, has grown to include 271 Houses in 30 countries and regions. Each night, thousands of families enjoy the comfort and care that each House provides.
The first Ronald McDonald Family Room program began in 1992 and has grown to 115 locations in 13 countries and regions. Family Rooms offer families a place where parents can nap, shower or simply relax — just steps away from pediatric care units. Some Family Rooms include overnight accommodations and laundry facilities.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program, created in 2000, brings cost-effective medical, dental and educational services directly to the children who need it most. Through relationships with clinical service providers, local RMHC Chapters now operate 32 Ronald McDonald Care Mobile programs in Argentina, El Salvador, New Zealand, Poland and the United States.
Achieving Other Goals
In addition to supporting the RMHC core programs, monetary gifts help fund other programs the Charity provides such as scholarships and educational services, and training programs for local RMHC staff members and volunteers so they can expand their capacity and increase their impact on children and their families.
Through its global grantmaking program, RMHC extends its reach by working with other nonprofit organizations serving children. The Charity has awarded hundreds of millions of dollars in grants worldwide. RMHC grants are helping provide children in Chinese welfare institutions with permanent families, prevent HIV transmission in Africa, provide reconstructive plastic surgery for children with injuries or congenital deformities, strengthen literacy education and feed hungry children.
A large percentage of the funding comes from compassionate individual donors who have a passion for reaching out to children in need. Make a donation to RMHC.
