RMHC and Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is a participating charity of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Last year was the first year RMHC was involved, where 40 runners (Team RMHC) raised more than $70,000 on our behalf.

How do I become a runner for Team RMHC?

Registration for the Chicago Marathon opened on February 1. In the past, registration closes at the end of April. Go to chicagomarathon.com and register as you normally would, and once you do, contact Yvonne at Yvonne.judice@us.mcd.com

What if registration closes before I get the opportunity to register?

Because of our partnership with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, RMHC receives a limited number of entries after the official registration closes. You will need to contact RMHC to obtain one of the entries.

Can I raise funds for my local Ronald McDonald House?

No. The partnership is with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and the Global office of Ronald McDonald House Charities. Any and all funds raised will be for RMHC global.

What is the minimum amount required to run for Team RMHC?

$1,000. RMHC will provide runners with a link to a “personalized” website to assist runners with fundraising efforts. Checks can be made out to Ronald McDonald House Charities. In addition, many companies will match donations to a charitable organization so this is a way to increase your fundraising efforts.

What are some of the benefits of running for Team RMHC?

VIP ‘gear check’ and hospitality tent on marathon race day in Charity Village; RMHC technical running shirt; May 9 kick-off luncheon to start the training season with Carey Pinkowski, B of A Chicago Marathon race director; and most importantly, the opportunity to directly improve the health and well-being of children around the world.

Who can I contact for more information?

Yvonne Judice, Director Strategic Partnerships and Programs, RMHC (630) 623-6592 or Yvonne.judice@us.mcd.com
